You may participate in the Montana Gravel Challenge solo or with your team; however, you are only allowed to ride with your teammate. We will produce a list of individual results each day but emphasize the daily team results.
Team results will be split between male, female, and coed. Cumulative team time will be used to sort the team results. Therefore the team with the lowest combined time will top the results per each days results.
COVID-19 - The event will be run as a two person time trial for all stages so you can ride with someone in your personal COVID bubble.
No drafting other teams. Teams are not allowed to ride within 6 feet of other teams out on the course while passing and must not draft (provide at least 3 bike lengths or 22 ft) Pass on the left and make your presence known by yelling passing or on your left.
Max number of people at the start/finish is 20 at a time and starting times assigned will control this. Teams will be assigned a starting time a week before the event for each stage.
Arrive into the starting area no more than 30 minutes prior to your starting time for each stage and please leave within 30 minutes of finishing.
Masks are required in the parking lot, start/finish area, and visiting aid stations (you need to ride with a mask in your pocket).
Aid stations will have two volunteers serving packaged food with gloves and masks on. Please wear your mask while entering the aid-station. Riders need to be self contained and self supported. There is one aid station, but riders need to be prepared to support themselves mechanically and nutritionally. There will be very little support out on the course. We'll have moto sweeps to ensure safety, but we are limiting contact
Rider check in and number pick up will be be available all week, from MTCX HQ. Please wear a mask during checkin.
Start lists and times will be emailed and posted the week before the event.
Total number of participants for each day is limited to 98 per Missoula County Health Requirements.
No podiums or award ceremonies due to COVID. Any awards will be mailed.
We are in contact with the Missoula County Health Department and Public Works and they are on board with our plan per the county update on 2/18/2021.
All courses will be fully marked with hours and mileage signs.
